RP lalahok sa Asean Primary School Sports Olympiad

ISANG magandang pagtatapos ang tatangkain ng 4-man Philippine team sa ASEAN Primary School Sports Olympiad 2010 (APSSO) Chess Championships sa pagpunta sa Jakarta sa Miyerkoles via Philippine Airlines.

Pangungunahan nina Palarong Pambansa Mandaluyong meet Vice Champion Raul “Rhal” Sol Cruz ng La Salle Green Hills (LSGH), Daryl Unix Samantila ng Adamson University, Marie Antoinette San Diego ng Cavite, at Stephone Rome Pangilinan ng Bulacan, ang Filipinos na makikipagtagisan ng talino simula sa November 4 hanggang 10 sa Jakarta, Indonesia.

“Organized by the Ministry of National Education and The Directorate of Kindergarten and Elementary School Education of Indonesia, APSSO, an annual sports competition event at elementary level was created to improve and develop sports at an early age promoting an intelligent and strong young generation that foster friendship, sportsmanship and respect with fellow athletes. It is participated by 10 countries composed of Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Brunei and Philippines. Included also in the competition are sports event football, table tennis, badminton and athletics,” sabi ng organizing committee.

“We expect these young and talented players to perform well as usual and bring honors to the country,” sabi ni International Arbiter at National Master Erwin L. Carag, ang RP head coach.
“Most of these players did very well during the ASEAN age-group chess championships held in Subic, so it will not be a surprise that they will perform just as well in the ASEAN level,” ani La Salle Green Hills (LSGH) Head Coach Carag na siyang kumuha ng Best Coach matapos ihatid ang LSGH sa kampeonato sa 86th NCAA chess tournament.
