Stephen chalked up his 2nd win at the expense of Syahmi Bahri bin Badarudin of Brunei but Daryl lost to Yeoh Li Tian of Malaysia and Rhal lost to FM Nguyen Anh Koi of Vietnam.
ReplyDeleteOur RP Grade School Chess Team dropped to 6th place with a 7.5 point tally.
1 Malaysia 9.5
2 Indonesia3 9.0
3 Vietnam 9.0
4 Indonesia2 8.0
5 Indonesia1 8.0
6 Philippines 7.5
7 Singapore 7.0
8 Brunei 2.0
We still have a mathematical chance of winning a medal, if we make a good closing tomorrow. The Girls have no game tonight. Thus Tonette is still holding on to 2nd place.
On R6, Daryl will play vs Indonesia2, Rhal will play vs Malaysia, and Stephen will play vs Indonesia1.
ReplyDeleteAssuming our boys win all their final round games, we will tally 10.5 pts. If Malaysia wins in 2 other boards, they still get 11.5. If Indonesia3 wins all its games, they will have 12 pts. If Vietnam wins all its games, they will have 12 pts. That will leave us out of the medal race.
But Malaysia and Indonesia 3 is playing tomorrow, thus if Malaysia wins, Indonesia3 will just get a max of 11 pts. Vietnam and Indonesia3 is also playing a game, thus if Vietnam wins, Indonesia3 will get a max of 10 pts. And we can max at 10.5 - a shot at team bronze.
And if Daryl wins, a possible silver or bronze, depending on tie breaks awaits him! This would be the first chess medal since APSSO started!
