    The continuation 5. e3 is not popular, with only 461 games. The main lines are 5. Bg5 with 4,887 games and 5. Bf4 with 1,937 games.

O-O does not only comply with one of the most important guidelines in chess but is also the top choice of GMs: Maghami vs Fressinet in Bundesliga 2011, Karpov vs Gelfand in World Blitz 2009, Malakhov vs Krasenkow in Politiken 2007, Karpov vs Flear in GP 2004, Stripunsky vs Onischuk in New York 2004.

    6... Nbd7, together with dxc4, c5 aNd b6, is considered the best. And Nbd7 was played in Laker vs Capablanca in World Ch 1921.
