The ASEAN Primary School Sport Olympiad (APSSO) is one of the projects that are initiated by ASEAN since 2007. It involves the area of sport disciplines of athletics, football, chess, table tennis and badminton. APSSO is regarded as an excellent platform to promote ASEAN awareness, strengthen regional solidarity and build friendships among children in the region. The 3rd APSSO in 2009, which will be held somewhere in the month of November, will be hosted by Indonesia.
Rhal Sol Cruz, 11 year old and in Grade 6 at La Salle Green Hills, will be participating here, particularly in the chess event with team mates Gio Mejia and Luke de Leon.

His training was handled by GM Bong Villamayor, NM Andrew Vasquez and LSGH Coach NM Erwin Carag with valuable support from GM Torre, NM Gatus, NM Bernardino, LSGH Assistant Coach Roy and MERALCO Champion Jay Dicen.
