This chess simultaneous match for the Salibanda of Paete was the second time now. Last year, I launched the project in coordination with Ka Senia (Arsenia Mendoza-San Juan) who teaches in one of the public high schools in town. The purpose is to give the less fortunate kids of Paete the opportunity to hone their skills or get discovered. Rhal played 7 kids last year and now, it was 11 kids.
ReplyDeleteRhal posted 9 wins and 2 losses. With the enthusiastic response from these kids and the parents, teachers and kibitzers, I am sure that next year would be better.
