ReplyDeleteRhal played the correct move - 7.e5 and was already winning. But after 7... Bc5, his Q retreat to d1 lost the edge. The correct move is 8.Qf4 to be followed by 9.Bc4 after Black's N returns to g8 or 9.Qf3 if Black's N chases the Q with Nh5.
On 11.b4?
The best is 11.Qg4, attacking g7 and forcing the reply Kf8 that loses the right to castle.
On 12.Nxe7
As FM Chris Castellano stressed in their training sessions, don't exchange pieces when you are attacking.
On 27.Rxe6?
Rybka's top choice is 27.Be2, preserving the B.
