    The main line is 4.Nf3 with 14,142 games which has a 35% winning record for White and 20% winning record for Black.

    The second most popular is 4.Bg5 with 4,480 games and a 43% win for White and 20% for Black.

    The third most popular s 4.cxd5 which Is known by the name Exchange Variation. It has 2,082 games with a50% winning record for White and 15% for Black.

    The move payed in this game is rare though logical. But it has been played by World Champion Steinitz vs Lasker in St Petersburg 1896.

    Rhal's reply is even rarer and has the highest winning record for White at 70%. However, the idea is logical and has been played by great masters of yesteryears such as Burn vs Zukertort in 1887, Teichmann vs Mason 1895, Janowsky vs Maroczy 1899, and Scheve vs Alapin 1901.

    The usual reply s 4... Be7 with 95 games and just 42% win for White: Petrosian vs Spassky 1979, Korchnoi vs Kasparov 1986, Zuniga vs Ivanchuk 1996, Kasparov vs Karpov 2009, Gelfand vs Carlsen 2010, among others.
